Costa Rica Little Candle Estate Washed GeishaCoffee Bean Intro:

Little Candle Estate
The name of Little Candle Estate comes from the many fireflies on this coffee farm, which are easily visible in the evening, hence the name. Locals use the word “candelilla to refer to the fireflies in this area.
How did Little Candle Estate start growing coffee?
Little Candle Estate is a partnership between seven partners, all from families with a long tradition of coffee farming.
They are the third generation to continue the coffee farming tradition, inheriting agricultural knowledge from their ancestors. Most of the land at Little Candle Estate today is dedicated to coffee cultivation.

Initially, Little Candle Estate was just an ordinary coffee farm operated separately by a few partners, who would send their coffee cherries to local cooperatives for processing.
During the 1997 period, the coffee crisis affected Costa Rica’s coffee industry. In that year, the partners sat down and asked themselves what actions they would take to address the coffee price crisis and how they would ? sustain and support their families through coffee farming. ?
One of the partners, who had more experience in coffee processing, suggested starting a small processing plant project while pooling the resources of the partners to establish Little Candle Estate. By processing their own coffee cherries, they could achieve higher returns.

Region Intro:
Costa Rica is located in Central America and was the first country in Central America where coffee was introduced and planted; it has a long history, and its coffee organizations have a complete system from production to sales. Because it lies in the Central American isthmus, the volcanic soil is very fertile and well-drained, especially in the Central Plateau; here the coffee-growing areas sit on volcanic terrain with fertile volcanic ash, mild and suitable temperatures, and stable and abundant rainfall, which is one of the factors that have made coffee a major agricultural product.
