Starmaya

Starmaya — An F1 hybrid of Marsellesa and a male-sterile Ethiopian or Sudanese plant, developed by CIRAD and ECOM. It was the first F1 coffee hybrid that can be multiplied reliably by seed, giving farmers hybrid vigour without the cost of tissue culture.

Flavor Profile

Florals, citrus and honey sweetness with bright acidity and a clean, layered cup that scores well above ordinary resistant varieties.

Brewing Tip

Pour-over at 90-92 °C, 1:15-1:16, medium-fine grind with a brisk first pour, to lift florals and bright acidity.
