Another Origin Move: StoneX Locks In a Colombian Pipeline

StoneX, the global financial services and commodity trading firm headquartered in New York, has signed an agreement to acquire Integra, a Colombian green coffee processor and exporter. The deal will be carried out through StoneX's Switzerland-based trading company, with Integra joining its spot commodity supply and trading desk. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Who Is Integra: A Small Exporter That Doubled in Six Years

Founded in 2015 by coffee trader Manuel Rueda, Integra runs a sales office in Miami and a purchasing network that spans Cauca, Huila, Tolima, Risaralda and Quindio — some of Colombia's most important coffee-growing departments.

Its growth track is straightforward: the company began shipping coffee to the United States in 2016 and invested in the La Bonita mill the following year. By 2020 it was exporting roughly 100,000 bags of 60 kg each; by 2022 that figure had surpassed 200,000 bags — a doubling in six years.

What It Means for StoneX: Export Licenses Plus Its Own Mill

Once completed, the acquisition gives StoneX an established export operation and its own processing facilities in Colombia, rounding out its origin-level sourcing channels. StoneX only entered the physical coffee business in 2020, but the pace has been brisk: after buying Mercon Specialty in 2024 it formed StoneX Specialty Coffee in Seattle, and in 2025 it opened a dedicated green coffee hub in Kansas City complete with warehousing, a cupping lab, and roasting and training facilities.

For a trading giant built on futures, hedging and risk management, origin-level spot capacity is closing the loop with its financial toolkit. Colombia, one of the world's largest washed arabica producers, has always been a battleground for traders — and with Integra on board, StoneX now holds a stronger hand in that contest.
