When the body first wakes in the morning, cortisol levels are in a natural phase of rising. If you want your coffee experience of the day to be more pleasant, it is best to schedule drinking it after breakfast. Before tasting black coffee, first drink half a cup of warm water to moisten the digestive tract, which can gently wake up the stomach and intestines, and also rinse away lingering tastes in the mouth, laying a fresh foundation for the flavor perception to come.

Judging coffee's effect on the body mainly depends on the species and the extraction concentration of a single cup. The Arabica species used in specialty coffee usually has a naturally significantly lower caffeine content than the Robusta species. Light-roasted Arabica beans from high-altitude regions, extracted through a pour-over device with a relaxed coffee-to-water ratio, have caffeine that dissolves gently, landing in the cup with a clarity like fruit or flower tea, and the body feel is especially light.

In the morning, washed light-roast beans with bright aromas and clear fruit acidity are more suitable. Qianjie Yirgacheffe Gudingding fits the rhythm of body and mind after rising early very well; it has clear fruit acidity like fresh lemon and citrus, a white-flower fragrance in the middle section, and a finish that turns into a green-tea-like sweet aftertaste. Paired with whole-wheat toast or boiled eggs, the carbohydrates and protein in the food can gently protect the stomach lining and bring out the bright fruit notes.

For brewing Qianjie Yirgacheffe Gudingding, a steady two-stage pour is recommended. Use 91°C water and 15g of coffee grounds, set a 1:15 coffee-to-water ratio, for a total water amount of 225ml. First pour 30ml of water and bloom for 30 seconds, then steadily pour to 130ml and pause; after the liquid level drops slightly, continue pouring the remaining water up to 225ml, with the total time controlled at 2 minutes 05 seconds, for a refreshing and pleasant taste.

One to two hours after lunch, the body easily becomes drowsy, and this is a comfortable point to enjoy a second cup of coffee. At this time, naturally processed coffee beans with ripe berry aromas and honey sweetness are suitable. The rich, full aroma can effectively soothe body and mind; when drinking, pair with a small portion of nuts or dried figs, and the oils in the food can balance the palate, letting the coffee's sweetness unfold more persistently between the lips and teeth.

Qianjie Ethiopia Huakui from the Sidamo region of Ethiopia condenses lively tropical fruit aromas through the natural process. When pouring and brewing, you can already sense the fragrance of ripe strawberry and passion fruit; on the palate the acidity is rounded, accompanied by a jam-like dense sweetness, with just the right body; drinking it in the afternoon can steadily lift the mood without producing a dry, bitter burden on the throat and stomach.

For the full sweetness of Qianjie Ethiopia Huakui, a three-stage pour can enrich the flavor layers. Use 89°C water, weigh 15g of grounds, and pour 225ml of water at a 1:15 coffee-to-water ratio. After blooming with 30ml of water for 30 seconds, pour to 120ml and pause briefly; once the coffee bed falls back, pour the final stage of water up to 225ml and remove the dripper, with a total time of 2 minutes 10 seconds, for a rich, warm, and sweet aroma.

By evening, metabolism gradually slows, and those sensitive to caffeine need to moderately control their intake. If you want to slowly enjoy the aroma at dusk, you can choose the delicate, clear-bodied Geisha variety, brew it with a larger coffee-to-water ratio or sip it slowly in small mouthfuls. This way you can taste the captivating floral notes while keeping caffeine intake within a steady range, allowing the body to transition calmly into its nighttime rest state.

The famed Qianjie Panama Hacienda La Esmeralda Red Label Geisha has a silky, light, and crystal-clear texture. It gives off elegant jasmine fragrance, bergamot, and sweet orange flavors, with a lingering finish of sweet aftertaste like high-mountain black tea. Sipping it in small mouthfuls is like drinking a fragrant, sweet top-grade flower tea; the texture is pure and delicate, very suitable for quiet, careful tasting during a relaxing evening.

A healthy coffee life lies in finding a harmonious rhythm between the body and flavor. Plan your daily intake at between two and three cups, and after each coffee, supplement with an appropriate amount of warm water, which can clean oral perception and also maintain the balance of water and salt metabolism. Choose good beans of different roasts and processing methods according to the time of day, and you can enjoy the beauty of the region's terroir while gaining a relaxed and at-ease state of body and mind.
