Recently, extreme weather has continued to affect the world, with phenomena such as temperature inversions occurring in Brazil. Such weather can disrupt the growth process of crops and impact yields.
In addition to São Paulo, cities in central Brazil such as Minas Gerais are also experiencing heatwaves, with drought and reduced rainfall due to the intense heat.
According to Brazilian weather records, Minas Gerais has had no rainfall over the past few weeks, at 0% of the historical average, and temperatures are expected to remain at or above 30°C. The high temperatures and low rainfall are not conducive to coffee growth.

In addition, high temperatures can accelerate fruit development and ripening. Moreover, prolonged exposure to temperatures of 30°C or higher can slow the growth of coffee trees, cause leaves to yellow, and affect final yields.
Recently, reports of increased production and exports from major coffee-producing countries such as Brazil and Vietnam have led to a decline in international futures prices, with domestic spot coffee prices in Brazil also falling accordingly.

Currently, the spot price of Arabica coffee in Minas Gerais, Brazil, is 1,170 Brazilian reais per bag. Although this is lower than the 1,340 reais per bag in April, it remains higher than the price during the same period over the past five years.

The rapid alternation between these two climate patterns will lead to more intense temperature fluctuations and have a more severe impact on global agriculture.
