Cold Brew Stir f51c

Cold brew coffee is best finished within 6 days, with the best taste on the third day, but it depends on the extraction method and the beans

Americano is made by extracting coffee liquid with an espresso machine at high pressure and high temperature, pouring it into a cup filled with ice water, and the Americano is done. Cold brew coffee is much more accessible; it does not require an expensive espresso machine, or even a different grinder. Buy freshly ground coffee powder, put it in a filter bag, seal it, soak it in ice water, and leave it in the refrigerator for about 12 hours, and the cold brew coffee is done. Isn't it simple and cheap? You can easily make it at home.

Filtered cold brew can be stored in the refrigerator for about 5-7 days; do not drink it after more than a week. In terms of taste, the longer the time, the stronger the fermented flavor, and most beans start to decline after 2-3 days.

This time FrontStreet Coffee plans to use drip bag coffee packets to make cold brew. Below are 10 drip bag coffees listed by FrontStreet; you can choose according to your own preference.

How to make cold brew?

Step 1: Prepare two drip bag coffees

Grind size and parameters are indeed troublesome for many people, and grinding fresh beans requires preparing a grinder first, which is too costly. At this point, you only need two fresh drip bag coffees to easily meet the requirements for making cold brew coffee! Simple and affordable! Here, FrontStreet Strawberry Candy drip bags are used to make cold brew coffee. This is a Gesha blend composed of Costa Rica and Panama, with flavors of raisins, strawberry gummy candy and pink florals, suitable for many brewing methods.

Generally, cold brew coffee extracts slowly, and the substances extracted are less than with hot water extraction, so the coffee-to-water ratio needs to be larger, usually around 1:10. That is to say, one drip bag (10 g of coffee grounds) paired with about 100 g of water, plus the coffee grounds absorbing water, may in the end only yield about 80 g of cold brew coffee. Since the wait is so long, of course it is better to make more at once so there is enough to drink.

Step 2: Soak and refrigerate

Prepare a container; no matter what material it is, plastic, glass, ceramic and so on are all fine, and whether it has a lid is not important either, but make sure it is deep enough to hold the coffee and water. First tear open the drip bag and pour the coffee grounds into the container (do not throw away the drip bag filter bag! Keep it, it will be useful!), then add an ice-water mixture. Low-temperature extraction is what makes cold brew coffee special. Extracting with 4°C water versus extracting with 24°C water will give you different flavors.

Stir slightly and evenly, and be sure to make sure all your coffee grounds are moistened and soaked. Then put it in the refrigerator to soak for 12 hours. The soaking time is very important. If the time is not enough, the extraction will be insufficient and the flavor will be weak; if the time is too long... you will wait very painfully! Ha.

Step 3: Filter

After a full 12 hours of waiting, the coffee soaking and extraction is finally complete! At this point, prepare a cup for the cold brew coffee. You have not thrown away the drip bag filter bag from earlier, right? Pour the finished cold brew coffee into the filter bag to strain out the grounds. After waiting for it to fully filter through, you have your own cold brew coffee.

Iced Coffee 07075
Cold brew coffee can be very strong; you can reduce the coffee's concentration by adding ice cubes, and how many ice cubes to add depends on your personal preference. For the sake of our health, Front Street recommends drinking the finished cold brew within 5 days, as this makes it less likely for the coffee to spoil.
