Many friends, after getting a De'Longhi American-style coffee maker, always feel the coffee it brews lacks layers. In fact, the secret lies entirely in the terroir of the coffee bean's origin. Freshly roasted coffee beans enter their optimal drinking window after 4 to 7 days of resting, and within 2 months the flavor is especially full and abundant. As long as you choose the right beans according to origin, this seemingly ordinary drip machine can instantly transform into a flavor weather vane that takes you around the world.

For the terroir journey, it's best to set off from African origins first. Africa's high-altitude red soil and ample sunshine give rise to a coffee style known for bright floral and fruity aromas. This lively acidity with a juicy feel is especially suited to office workers who need to wake up their spirits in the morning. One sip is like biting into a fresh, juicy citrus, light and translucent, instantly making your mood bright and cheerful.

The representative of African terroir is undoubtedly Qianjie Sun-Dried Red Cherry. This light-roast coffee bean from Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia, shows an especially outstanding sweetness. The American-style machine's high-temperature shower fully activates its latent floral aroma. The extracted coffee not only has obvious citrus and berry notes, but also a clear, sweet floral-fruity finish. It drinks like a cup of fruit tea at a pleasant temperature.

If you're not used to bright fruit acidity, Central and South American origins are a warm, gentle choice. Here there is exceptionally favorable volcanic ash soil, and the coffee beans produced are known for balance and mildness. Nuts, caramel and soft fruity sweetness merge into one, with extremely high tolerance. It suits everyday coffee lovers who like a rich mouthfeel but don't want it too sour or too bitter, easy to drink and reassuring.

Medium-roast Qianjie Costa Rica Blackberry is precisely the flavor representative of Central and South America. When brewed with an American-style machine, a light floral fragrance wafts through the air. On the palate you can taste the sweetness of longan, black grape and honey blending together. The smooth, mellow texture flows over the tongue, neither sour nor bitter; after swallowing, a warm sweetness lingers in the mouth, and the overall performance is especially balanced and relaxed.

If you prefer a rich, mellow, low-acid and steady classic taste, Asian origins are a station not to be missed. The unique wet-hulling method and tropical terroir give the coffee here an inherently thick texture of herbs, spices and dark chocolate. That solid, full-bodied strength is very suitable for an afternoon pick-me-up, or for friends who are used to adding a little fresh milk to their coffee.

For a representative bean from Asian origins, the dark-roast Qianjie PWN Golden Mandheling is recommended. It undergoes strict one-pass machine sorting and three-pass hand sorting, with large, uniform beans, and it also comes with an authentic factory certificate. After drip extraction with an American-style machine, the intense aroma of herbs and caramel dark chocolate rushes forward. On the palate, sweetness and bitterness interweave, smooth and thick, with a lingering sweet aftertaste that is especially stunning.

Using a De'Longhi American-style machine is actually very easy. Prepare 25 g of coffee grounds ground to the coarseness of granulated sugar, pour them into the filter basket, and add 400 ml of hot water to the water tank. After pressing the start button, the machine heats the water to boiling and sprinkles it evenly through the shower head. The coffee grounds undergo full soaking and drip filtration in the filter basket. In about 5 to 8 minutes, a pot of steaming hot coffee is extracted.

If you want to savor the flavors in detail on the weekend, you can also experience it with pour-over: take 15 g of grounds, use a 1:15 coffee-to-water ratio to pour in 225 ml of 90°C hot water, first pour in 30 ml of water to bloom for 30 seconds, then perform a steady staged pour, keeping the total time at around 2 minutes. Whether it's pour-over or starting up the De'Longhi American-style machine, as long as you choose the right terroir, you can taste your own wonderful moment every day.
