African coffee enjoys high global recognition, as Africa is home to many coffee-producing countries, and Ethiopia is widely acknowledged as the birthplace of coffee. There are also many formidable coffee-producing nations, such as Uganda, which continues to develop.

Most of Uganda is located on the East African Plateau, with numerous lakes and an average elevation of 1,000–1,200 meters, earning it the nickname “the water tower of the plateau.” The western branch of the East African Rift Valley runs through the western part of the country, and the southwestern region features the Rwenzori Mountains, where Mount Margherita rises to 5,109 meters, making it the third-highest peak in Africa, along with notable volcanoes.

Uganda has a tropical savanna climate, with an annual average temperature of 22.3°C. Most areas receive between 1,000 and 1,500 millimeters of rainfall per year, with rainy seasons from March to May and September to November, and dry seasons in the remaining months. With distinct seasons, abundant water resources, high altitude, and volcanic soils, Uganda is very suitable for agricultural cultivation such as coffee.

The local government has established new laws to manage coffee cultivation, aiming to help improve the quality of Uganda’s coffee beans, which are a major export commodity.
