African coffee enjoys a very high reputation in the global coffee market, as Ethiopia in Africa is recognized as the birthplace of coffee. In addition, there are many other outstanding coffee-producing countries, such as Kenya, Ethiopia’s neighbor.
Kenya
Kenya is located in the tropical monsoon zone, with most areas having a tropical savanna climate. The coastal regions are relatively hot and humid, while the plateau enjoys a mild climate. The rainy seasons are from March to June and from October to December. The annual temperature ranges between 12-24°C, and annual rainfall decreases from 1,500 mm in the southwest to 200 mm in the northeast. The country’s high-altitude mountains, volcanic soils, abundant sunshine, and moderate rainfall contribute to its well-developed agriculture and tourism industries.
Kirinyaga: This region is also translated as Kirinyaga, meaning “white mountain” in the local language, with an altitude of 1,300–1,900 meters. Located in central Kenya, near the high-altitude Mount Kenya, it boasts fertile volcanic soil, abundant rainfall, and a cool climate, and is renowned worldwide for producing coffee known for its intense flavors, complex layers, and full body. Together with the Nyeri region, it is recognized as one of the two best coffee-producing areas in Kenya today.

The headquarters of Dormans Company (DORMANS) is located in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. The company is involved in the processing of green coffee beans, roasted bean production, and international trade. Its operations span multiple coffee-growing regions in Kenya as well as coffee beans from Tanzania. It has factories, warehouses, and processing facilities both in Kenya and Tanzania.

DORMANS is renowned for its outstanding quality management. At the company’s headquarters, approximately 1,500 cups of coffee are cupped and evaluated each week by a professional team to select high-quality beans.

They evaluate the beans using acidity, body, and flavor as indicators, scoring each attribute on a scale from 1 to 3. For example, a score of 1-1-1 corresponds to the TOP grade.
